ARKANSAS

Dillard's sues BOE for lower taxes

According to the complaint filed with the Craighead County Circuit Court, Dillard's Dollars, lnc., is appealing the Nov. 2 judgment entered by Judge Marvin Day in the County Court of Craighead County, which sided with the BOE's decision to denying further relief and affirmed the market value that the BOE established for the property earlier this year.

MINNESOTA

Hubbard County officials explain 19% tax levy increase

At $19,100,000, Hubbard County's proposed property tax levy for 2023 is a 19% increase from last year. That's a $3.1 million increase compared to 2022's $16,050,000 final levy. Ten percent of the levy increase – roughly $1.6 million – is a capture of new construction tax capacity from Enbridge's Line 3 project.

The facility would process, refine and manufacture battery materials to support the company's supply chain. Tesla is expected to decide in the coming weeks between sites in Texas, Louisiana and Canada for the facility.
