Overdue property taxes are forecasted to hit the highest level ever in history, ballooning by more than 30% to over $880 million at the end of the fiscal year in June, compared to three years ago.

The Victoria Central Appraisal District election set for May 4 was canceled. Only three candidates registered in time for the election. They are certified as unopposed and elected. Joining the Victoria Central Appraisal District Board of Directors are Judy Clegg in At Large Position 1, Zed Stewart in At Large Position 2, and Dale Zuck in At Large Position 3.
