
For nearly 20 years, Peter Schnore has concentrated his practice in real estate tax-assessment appeals
and other real estate-related disputes. Peter represents commercial and industrial property owners
before county boards of assessment appeals and courts throughout Pennsylvania who seek a real
property tax reduction or exemption. He also represents property owners faced with defending the
assessed value from a challenge brought by a local taxing authority.
Peter has represented owners and lessees of a wide variety of property types including office, retail
including conventional malls and lifestyle centers, restaurants, banks, hotels, multi-family including
affordable housing, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, cellular towers, landfills, and mineral
interests.
Peter frequently writes and speaks on the subject of Pennsylvania real property taxation. Peter is a
member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) and has been a member of the Editorial
Committee of IPT's monthly publication, The Insider, since 2014. Peter received IPT's Property Tax
Article of the Year Award in 2013. Peter is a Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), Property Tax, a
professional designation that IPT awards reflecting expertise in property taxation.
Peter received his B.A. from Lehigh University in 1996 where he majored in Philosophy. He attended the
University of Pittsburgh School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2001. During law school, Peter
served as Articles Editor and member of the Editorial Board of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
