Steven P. Young, a partner in the Salt Lake City office, joined the firm in 1996. His practice emphasis is state and local taxation and government relations. He received his B.A., M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Utah.

Mr. Young has advised Internet companies, telecommunication companies, airlines, oil and gas companies, hospitals, power companies, small start-up businesses and individuals on a variety of sales, income, property, and other state and local tax issues. He has also represented the same before state and local taxing authorities and legislative bodies.

Mr. Young is a frequent lecturer on state and local tax issues. He is also an Editor for the ABA Property Tax Deskbook and the Journal of Multistate Taxation, and publishes routinely in state and local tax publications, including the above-reference publications, the ABA State and Local Tax Lawyer, the ABA Sales and Use Tax Deskbook, the IPT Property Tax Update, the ABA Property Tax Update, and the Committee on State Taxation Annual Update.
