Clayton Fulcher Seafood is now just part of the history of Carteret County. The state is trying to ensure that the remaining fish houses don’t face a similar future. For the second year, the state is offering a tax break for the owners of businesses dependent upon the water, like fish houses and piers. Gradually, news of it is spreading. This year eight county businesses participated; however, it’s clear that the tax break alone isn’t a cure-all for the industry’s troubles.
